Oh, the limitless love of God! It is unconditional, undeserved, and undeniable. It is not distant or out of reach, but readily available to even the most lowly of humanity. It is tangible, intimate, and beautiful. It is ultimately impossible to describe such a marvelous love with mere words. To know its true beauty, it must be experienced firsthand. And this beautiful, indescribable love is simply awaiting your embrace.
Let me speak to the girls for just a moment. We all have our Cinderella stories. We dream of being hidden away in an unreachable tower, anxiously awaiting the return of our Prince Charming; who defies all odds to rescue us from our captivity and whisk us away into our happily ever after. We long to be loved enough to be rescued.
“Listen! My lover is knocking: ‘Open to me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my flawless one.’” –Song of Songs 5:2
Oh, but our Rescuer has already come. He’s knocking at the door of our tower, patiently waiting for us to open the door and let His love come in. Once we open the door, the love of our Rescuer transforms us from a damsel in distress into a beautiful Princess, whisking us away in the embrace of our Lover, happily ever after.
The love of God changes things. Suddenly, in the embrace of our Rescuer, the tower of captivity that we’ve held on to for so long becomes irrelevant. All that we’ve known and loved becomes inadequate compared to the unfailing love of our Redeemer. His is the only love that satisfies our longing to be rescued. His is the only love that comes in such abundance that it overflows. And His is the only love that never lets go. You are eternally loved. Won’t you be His eternal admirer? He’s waiting at the door. . .
